Caredemy joins the ALLIANCE to help support Scotland’s third sector

Caredemy aims to provide high quality care skills training to people and organisations throughout the UK. So we’re pleased to announce that we are now a member of the ALLIANCE, which works to ensure that people of Scotland can easily access the care solutions they need.

Alongside our membership of industry bodies such as The Association of Healthcare Trainers and The National Care Association, our support for the ALLIANCE underlines Caredemy’s firm commitment to providing excellent service.

Who is the ALLIANCE?

The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland, also known as the ALLIANCE, is an intermediary which brings together a range of third sector health and social care organisations serving the people of Scotland.

The ALLIANCE has a vision of a Scotland where people who are disabled or living with long term conditions, along with their unpaid carers, can access care services and support which put them at the forefront. They aim to give their members a strong voice so that they can enjoy an equal and active life that’s free from discrimination.

There are now over 3000 members of the Alliance, which includes organisations providing voluntary health and care services at local and national level, together with disabled people, people living with long term conditions and those who provide unpaid care.

The membership also includes many NHS Boards, medical practices and other key organisations. The ALLIANCE has a close working relationship with these organisations and is a strategic partner of the Scottish Government. This means that it can play an important role in the health and social care sector in Scotland.

What does the ALLIANCE do?

The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland is working towards towards three main aims:

To ensure that policy surrounding care services is driven by the voices, rights and expertise of the people who access them.

To support transformational change that helps people to stay well while supporting independent living, self management and human rights.

To support and champion the voluntary sector in its vital work as a strategic and delivery partner, helping to foster greater cross-sector understanding.

Caredemy and the ALLIANCE

Caredemy shares the ALLIANCE’s vision of a Scotland where disabled people, those living with a long term condition and their unpaid carers can enjoy their right to live well and to express their needs with a strong voice. And we are proud to be a part of the diverse range of people and organisations that make up their membership.

Our health and social care courses, online certification and CPD courses are ideal for those working in the third sector or who want to start volunteer work. By providing staff and volunteers with easy access to online training courses and opportunities for CPD, Caredemy shows how digital technology can support the work of the health and care sector.
