The Safeguarding Adults Level 1 Course
Health and social care sector workers have a statutory duty to safeguard adults who are in their care. This duty also extends to any voluntary and non-clinical staff working in care settings.
In order to carry out their duty of care in safeguarding vulnerable adults, it’s vital for health and social care workers to undergo specialist safeguarding training. The Caredemy Safeguarding Adults Level 1 course allows staff and volunteers working in the care sector to complete this training, ensuring that they have the important skills and knowledge that their roles require.
Online safeguarding training is an effective and convenient way for busy care sector workers to meet the requirements of their role. The Safeguarding Adults Level 1 is Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliant, meets the outcomes of the Core Clinical Framework and complies with the requirements of CPD (Continuous Professional Development). The online course materials are easy to navigate and, like all Caredemy courses, it comes with our 14 day money back guarantee.

What does the Safeguarding Adults Level 1 course cover?
This course provides an introductory overview of adult safeguarding, including the role played by health and social care workers in identifying and caring for vulnerable adults.
Completing the course will provide you with a solid grounding in adult safeguarding practice, including the six principles of safeguarding that underpin the Care Act 2014.
You will learn about the policies, procedures and legislation for adult safeguarding. There is a strong emphasis on person-centred care, including what person centred care means and how to implement it within your care setting. Record keeping is an important part of safeguarding vulnerable adults and this is also covered by the Safeguarding Adults Level 1 course.
Safeguarding Adults Level 1 also covers the different forms of abuse that health and social care workers are likely to come across in the course of their work, including financial abuse, physical abuse and modern slavery. Radicalisation and extremism can also be a concern in care settings and workers in the health and social care sector need to be aware of the warning signs. You’ll learn how to recognise the main signs of abuse and the steps that you should take if you suspect that someone in your care is being abused.
You will also learn when to report concerns and what action is necessary if you have concerns about an adult in your care. Some of these situations can be very complex and the course provides guidance on how to handle them with sensitivity.
