Course Outline: Keeping Children Safe In Education Course
Everyone who works in education needs to have a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities with regard to safeguarding the children in their care. It’s important that they are able to identify the signs of possible abuse or neglect and respond to them quickly and appropriately.
Caredemy’s Safeguarding Children in Education online training course is a convenient and effective way for staff and volunteers to receive safeguarding training that is specifically designed for an educational setting.
What is Safeguarding in Education?
School or college should be a safe space which promotes the welfare of young people and keeps them safe from harm. Safeguarding in schools, or child protection, is the process which seeks to ensure that children and young people in education are protected from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
All educational settings need to ensure that a safeguarding system is in place and that staff and volunteers receive regular and appropriate safeguarding training. This will ensure that they are able to recognise the early signs of abuse or neglect and know how to take appropriate action.
Who is the Safeguarding Children in Education course suitable for?
Everyone working in educational settings who has contact with children or young people has a responsibility for safeguarding. They are also required by law to know and understand the current guidance, legislation and policies for safeguarding children.
This Level 2 Caredemy Safeguarding Children course is an introductory careskills course which is suitable for learners at all levels. Its content is appropriate for staff and volunteers in early years and nursery settings, as well as those who work at primary and secondary schools. It is also suitable training for governors and staff on governing bodies.
The Safeguarding Children in Education online training course can be used as part of your induction training syllabus for new staff and is also an appropriate addition to refresher safeguarding training.
