Phobias

Phobias can be debilitating and can prevent sufferers from living a normal life. Triggered by a particular situation (heights, going outside, etc.) or object (snakes, needles), a phobia is an extreme fear or anxiety that lasts more than six months and has an impact on day-to-day life. These phobias usually develop during adolescence or young adulthood. Traumatic events or learning fears from other people, such as a parent with the same fear, can cause phobias.
