Managing Tremors

Around 70% of people with Parkinsonu2019s experience tremors. Tremors are uncontrollable shaking movements that affect a part of the body, most commonly the hand. The tremor usually begins on one side of the body and progresses to both sides over time. The tremor may become more apparent as the person rests or when they get excited or worried. Tremors make daily activities more difficult and are very frustrating. Tremors are usually treated with medication, and because stress and anxiety make tremors worse, it is important to try and help the person stay relaxed.
