What is Regulation 20?

Regulation 20 from the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and Regulations 2014 outlines the duty of candour. The duty of candour applies to every health and social care worker that is regulated by the CQC. It requires registered managers and providers to act in an open and transparent way with people receiving care or treatment from them. Notifiable safety incidents and how registered persons must apply the duty of candour is defined by Regulation 20.
