Standard Principles Copy

These are standard principles everyone should follow to prevent the spread of infection:

  • Hand hygiene
  • Environmental hygiene
  • Safe disposal of sharps and waste
  • Personal protective equipment

The Department of Health and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) provide guidelines on infection prevention and control based on evidence.
