Who is Responsible for Risk Assessments?

It is the responsibility of the employer to complete a risk assessment at work or to appoint someone with the relevant skills, knowledge, and experience to do so. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 states that an employer must take reasonable steps “for the effective planning, organisation, control, monitoring, and review of the preventative and protective measures”.
