Other complex calculations can be dose/kg/min. There are formulas to help with these calculations to reduce the number of steps needed to convert dosages into the volume needed per hour.

Dosage per kg x patient weight (kg) x 60 / What you have available (dosage in syringe) x Volume it’s dissolved in = Rate per hour (ml/hr)

Dosage/kg x Patient weight (kg)  /  Dosage in infusion/Volume of Infusion  = ml/hr
